Solstice

Sometimes it takes the longest lit day of the year to shed light on your shadows.

Thinking back on the last month and a bit of travel, looking at photos, tweets and blog posts reminds me that I need to live more in the moment. When you’ve got thousands of miles still ahead, it’s easy to get lost in what’s about to happen rather than just being where you are. There are so many opportunities to see the amazing in everything – even if it’s just taking your shoes off in a city park and feeling the grass between your toes.

I know I’ve been talking a bit about minimal living and trying to live more simply – life on the road confirms this for me. There’s really not a lot that you need to be both happy and comfortable. I’m even wishing I brought less along on this trip.

With less to crowd me, I find I’m happier and free to live in the moment.
